Description:
The following instructions guide you to install Repetier-Host, which is the software used to do the following on Airwolf 3D printers:
- Manually control the printer
- Run prints
- View gcode in 3D
Process:
1) Repetier-Host can be downloaded from the Repetier website here.
--
2) Run the install file. Once the installation is completed, click "Finish".
--
3) Open Repetier-Host. Click the "Printer Settings" button in the top right-hand corner of the interface (gears icon).
--
4) A new window will appear with multiple tabs (Connection, Printer, Extruder, Printer Shape, etc.)
--
5) Under the "Connection" tab, select the "Port" dropdown and set it to whichever COM port you have the printer plugged in to (it should be the only option available besides "Auto"), and set the "Baud Rate" to "250,000" (it may already be set to that by default):
--
6) Under the "Printer" tab, set the "Manual Extrusion Speeds" to "1" and "5" mm/s. Set the "Default Extruder Temperature" and the "Default Bed Temperature" to the following, based on your printer model:
Model | Extruder Temperature (C) | Bed Temperature (C) |
5.5 | 240 | 0 |
XL | 240 | 115 |
HDL | 220 | 0 |
HD | 240 | 115 |
HDx | 240 | 115 |
HD2x/HDR | 240 | 115 |
--
7) Use the "Extruder" tab to set the number of extruders and max temperatures. Set the "Diameter" to "0.5". For dual-head printers, a different color should be selected for each of the nozzle:
Model | Number of Extruder(s) | Max Extruder Temp (C) | Max Bed Temp (C) |
5.5 | 1 | 260 | 110 |
XL | 1 | 260 | 125 |
HDL | 1 | 260 | 0 |
HD | 1 | 260 | 125 |
HDx | 1 | 315 | 140 |
HD2x/HDR | 2 | 315 | 140 |
--
8) Use the "Printer Shape" tab to set the dimensions of the build volume:
Model | Print Area Width/X Max | Print Area Depth/Y Max | Print Area Height |
5.5 | 200 | 230 | 100 |
XL | 295 | 230 | 175 |
HDL | 300 | 200 | 300 |
HD | 300 | 200 | 300 |
HDx | 300 | 200 | 300 |
