Description:
You'll learn the steps on how to clean out the AXIOM Bowden tube single or dual nozzle hot end.
Process:
1) Preheat the printer to the appropriate temperature for the type of filament you were last using, 215 for PLA, 240 for ABS, 300 for Polycarbonate, etc...
--
2) Once the printer is heated up, you can unhook the Bowden tube(s) from the hot end.
--
3) Locate the "press to connect" fitting on the top of the hot end.
--
4) Using a flat-head screwdriver or Allen wrench, push the press to connect fitting down then pull up on the Bowden tube to release it.
--
5) Remove the nozzle from the hot end, take care because it will be hot.
--
6) Take a length of filament approximately 12 inches long, and push down through the hot end and out the bottom.
--
7) Pull the filament down out through the bottom of the hot end, you may repeat this as many times as needed with a new piece of filament each time
until you see no debris on the filament.
--
8) Install the nozzle or preferably a new nozzle and push the Bowden tube back into the press to connect fitting, giving it a little tug to make sure it is seated in the fitting correctly. Then put the Bowden tube(s) back under the hooks.
--
9) You know have a cleaned out hot end, it is recommended to do this cleaning once a month or as needed to ensure quality prints.
