Description:
The following instructions guide you to install Cura, which is the software used to do the following on Airwolf 3D printers:
- Adjust the orientation of model files (STLs)
- Adjust settings
- Slice the model file (STL) into a print file (gcode)
Process:
1) Cura can be downloaded from the Ultimaker website here.
--
2) Run the install file.
--
3) Open Cura. The first thing that will pop up is the "Add new machine" wizard. Click "Next".
--
4) Select "Other". Click "Next".
--
5) "Custom" will already be selected. Click "Next".
--
6) Enter the printer model as the "Machine name". Then enter the dimensions of the printer, based on the model. Check "Heated bed". Dimensions can be found on the chart below. Click "Finish".
--
If you have a single-head printer, you are now finished with setup! If you have a dual-head printer, please continue on to step 7.
--
7) Go to the Machine menu, and select "Change machine settings...".
--
8) Change "Extruder count" to '2'. Click "Ok".
--
9) Open the machine settings again. More information will be displayed now that the extruder count is changed to '2'. Change "Offset Y" to '0'. Click "Ok".
--
10) You're done! You can now load STLs, orient your parts, adjust settings, and slice the STL into gcode.
